Don't Guess — Know for Sure
Most homeowners have no idea what's happening inside their dryer vent. Is it clean? Is it damaged? Is the vent even connected? You can't see it, so you assume it's fine — until clothes stop drying, a burning smell appears, or worse. A professional inspection takes 30 minutes, costs $75, and tells you exactly where you stand. If everything's clean and intact, you have documentation proving it. If there's a problem, you catch it before it becomes an emergency — or a fire. Think of it as a $75 insurance policy for your peace of mind.
How it works
Every step is designed for thoroughness, transparency, and your peace of mind.
Dryer & Connection Check
We start at the dryer itself — checking the lint trap, the transition hose behind the dryer, and the wall connection point. Many problems begin right here with crushed or disconnected transition hoses.
Camera-Scope Inspection
We feed a high-resolution camera through the entire vent run, recording footage as we go. This reveals lint buildup levels, pipe condition, joint integrity, and any obstructions like bird nests or debris.
Airflow Measurement
Using a digital anemometer at the exterior hood, we measure actual airflow in cubic feet per minute. This gives us a quantitative baseline — if airflow is below minimum thresholds, there's a restriction somewhere.
Exterior Inspection
We check the exterior vent hood for damage, pest entry, proper flap operation, and weatherproofing. A non-functional exterior hood can block airflow as effectively as a vent full of lint.
Risk Assessment & Report
You receive a written report with camera screenshots, airflow readings, risk level assessment, and clear recommendations. If cleaning or repair is needed, we include a no-obligation quote. If everything checks out, you have documentation for your records.
Why this service matters
Definitive Answer
No guessing, no assumptions. Camera footage and airflow data tell you exactly what's going on inside your vent — and whether action is needed.
Catch Problems Early
A small lint buildup today becomes a fire hazard in 6 months. A minor pipe separation now becomes a major wall repair later. Early detection saves money and risk.
$75 Credit Toward Service
If the inspection reveals you need cleaning or repair, the full $75 inspection fee is applied as a credit toward that service. You don't pay twice.
No-Obligation Quote
If work is needed, you receive a detailed quote with no pressure to proceed. Take your time, get other quotes, or book with us — your choice.
Documentation for Records
Your inspection report serves as documentation for insurance, home sales, strata requirements, or simply your own peace of mind.
Real Estate Transaction Ready
Buying or selling a home? An inspection report provides documented evidence of vent condition — valuable for negotiations and closing.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about inspection.
Is the $75 inspection fee refundable if I don't need service?
The $75 is the cost of the inspection itself. However, if the inspection shows you need cleaning or repair and you book that service, we credit the full $75 toward the service cost. So if you need a $189 cleaning, you'd only pay the $114 difference.
How is this different from what a home inspector checks?
Home inspectors typically do a visual-only check of the exterior vent hood and dryer area. We run a camera through the entire vent system and measure actual airflow — things a standard home inspection doesn't cover. Many problems are invisible from the outside.
Can you inspect while the dryer is running?
No — the camera inspection requires the dryer to be off and disconnected from the vent. However, we do a running test at the end to check airflow and dryer operation.
What equipment do you use for the inspection?
A high-resolution push camera specifically designed for duct inspection, and a digital anemometer for airflow measurement. The camera records video and captures screenshots for your report.
How soon will I receive the report?
We review findings with you on-site immediately after the inspection. The written report with photos is emailed within 24 hours.
What if you find something seriously wrong?
If we find an immediate safety hazard (disconnected vent, vent terminating in wall cavity, extreme lint buildup), we'll explain the risk clearly and recommend immediate action. We can often address simple issues same-day if you choose to proceed.
Do real estate agents use this service?
Yes. Several Calgary real estate agents refer clients to us for pre-listing and pre-purchase inspections. A clean inspection report eliminates a common negotiation point, and finding problems early avoids surprises during the buyer's home inspection.
